Engineering Grants Coordinator (Registry)
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
1. Performs additional functions (essential or otherwise) which may be assigned.
2. May assist with preparation of Transportation Improvement Program applications, CIP budget, and Long Range Transportation Plan.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Primarily desk work. Requires the ability to operate general office equipment such as a personal computer, calculator, and telephone. Requires ability to read, interpret, and apply federal regulations, and to communicate with professionals and non-professionals orally and in writing. Must be able to operate an automobile.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Majority of work is performed in an office environment. Work involves interaction with project managers, grantor agencies, staff members at all levels, and the public. Work will involve traveling between office and various meeting and construction sites.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Planning, Engineering, Accounting, Finance or closely related field and four (4) years’ experience in community development research, contract administration, grant writing/administration, public policy, accounting, or public infrastructure programing; or any combination of experience or training which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Working experience with various computer software applications required. Working experience with budget development and monitoring; program development, proposal writing, and knowledge of contracts and agreements preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license as a condition of continuous employment. Master’s degree may count as two (2) years of professional experience.
The City Charter requires that City Employees must establish residence within Shelby County withing six (6) months from the date of employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire.
