Environmental Engineer Designer AA (Registry)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Environmental Eng Designer A – Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. Must possess a certification as an Engineer-In-Training (EIT). Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license as a condition of continued employment.
- Environmental Eng Designer AA – Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and two (2) years' professional civil engineering experience. Must possess a certification as an Engineer-In-Training (EIT). Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license as a condition of continued employment
- Environmental Engineer – Bachelors' degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering degree and four (4) years' experience in civil or environmental engineering and at least two (2) of the four (4) years in a supervisory/lead capacity; or any combination of experience and training which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Must possess and maintain a Professional Engineer (PE) license to practice in the state of Tennessee or a state that has reciprocity with Tennessee as a condition of continued employment. Must obtain a State of Tennessee Class II Wastewater Collection license within 24 months of employment in this position and maintain license as a condition of continued employment if assigned to Environmental Maintenance (CMOM program). Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license as a condition of continued employment.
- Senior Enviromental Engineer -- Bachelors’ degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering degree and seven (7) years experience in civil or environmental engineering and at least four (4) of the seven (7) years in a supervisory/lead capacity; or any combination of experience and training which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Must possess and maintain a Professional Engineer (PE) license to practice in the state of Tennessee or a state that has reciprocity with Tennessee as a condition of continued employment. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license as a condition of continued employment. Must obtain a State of Tennessee Class II Wastewater Collection license within 24 months of employment in this position and maintain license as a condition of continued employment if assigned to Environmental Maintenance (CMOM program). Must obtain KY/TN Pretreatment Level 1 and Level 2 certifications (or equivalent) within 24 months of employment in this position and maintain as a condition of continued employment if assigned to Industrial Monitoring Pretreatment Program. *******************************************************************************

The City Charter requires that City Employees must establish residence within Shelby County withing six (6) months from the date of employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire.
