Library Delivery Clerk (Appointed)
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Operates a City cube truck for long periods of time to travel throughout the city to deliver mail. Will be exposed to changing weather conditions and temperatures.
High school graduate or equivalent and two (2) years of experience performing mail delivery and sorting duties including specific experience operating such as a computer terminal; or any combination of experience or training which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Knowledge of dock equipment, pallet jacks, etc. preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license as a condition of continued employment.
The City Charter requires that City Employees, with the exception of "first responders", must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from their date of employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire. As defined by Tennessee Senate Bill No. 29, "first responder" means paid, full-time law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel.
