Traffic Aide
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to understand written and verbal instructions and communicate instructions to members of the general public. Two (2) years experience providing customer service to the general public is preferred. Must have a valid Tennessee Driver’s License.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a temporary, non-commissioned position. Uniform will be provided and must be maintained. Work is performed mostly in the evenings, but hours will vary. Work assignments will be offered on a sporadic basis and must be regularly accepted as a condition of continued employment.
The City Charter requires that City Employees, with the exception of "first responders", must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from their date of employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire. As defined by Tennessee Senate Bill No. 29, "first responder" means paid, full-time law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel.
