Transcriptionist
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in an office environment and involves contact with staff and citizens.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or equivalent and three (3) years clerical experience; or any combination of experience or training which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Must be able to pass Human Resources speed test of 30 WPM with five (5) or less errors, demonstrate ability to transcribe from dictaphone to personal computer, or pass other skills tests as deemed appropriate by Human Resources. May be required to work varied shifts, evenings, and weekends as required and be on-call 24 hours/day as needed. Previous clerical experience in a law enforcement setting, as a transcriptionist, or utilizing specialized transcription software preferred.
