TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires the use of equipment, such as folding ladders and/or straight ladders; lifting valves, pumps and other mechanical equipment; ability to close large valves; works over, under and around mechanical equipment and piping in order to perform general maintenance; operates boilers, chillers, fans, pneumatic control valves, motors and other building equipment.



TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:  Work is performed throughout the City Hall facility under normal maintenance conditions; involves contact with different staff levels.

 

Three (3) years experience operating and maintaining electrical and/or boilers of 150 H. P. and chillers in excess of 400 tons. Must possess and maintain a valid First-Class Steam & Refrigeration Operator's license. Some background in building maintenance preferred.  

The City Charter requires that City Employees must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from date of Employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire.
