Asst. Community Engagement Director
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires the ability to operate office equipment such as a computer, copier and telephone. Requires ability to communicate with staff, management, public officials, community, and other agencies. Must be able to traverse across uneven grounds. Must be able to operate an automobile for the purpose of driving to various locations throughout the city.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Majority of work is performed in an office setting or various parks and other buildings throughout the City. May be exposed to changing weather conditions. Requires frequent travel to various sites around the City.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Theatre, Recreation, or closely related field and eight (8) years’ experience in Parks and Recreation with six (6) of the eight (8) years in a supervisory capacity; or any combination of experience and training which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver License as a condition of continued employment.
The City Charter requires that City Employees must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from date of Employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire.
