Automotive Technician
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to read, write, and understand written and verbal instructions with one (1) year experience preforming routine maintenance on motor vehicles and/or equipment; or any combination of experience or training which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Must possess and maintain a valid driver license as a condition of continued employment. Must possess or obtain within one (1) year of hire Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications - Auto Maintenance and Light Repair (G1) and Preventive Maintenance Inspection (T8) - and maintain these certifications as a condition of continued employment. Additional ASE certifications preferred. Must possess or obtain within six (6) months of employment and maintain a valid Class "B" Tennessee Commercial Driver's License as a condition of continued employment. Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing equipment preferred.
The City Charter requires that City Employees must establish residence within Shelby County withing six (6) months from the date of employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire.
