Chief Administrative Officer (Appointed/City Council)
Bachelor's degree in Business or Public Administration or a closely related field and seven (7) to nine (9) years of governmental experience, policy development or legislative, with four (4) of the seven (7) years in a supervisory capacity; or any combination of education and experience which enable one to perform the essential job functions. Must have proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Outlook, and Excel. Master’s degree is preferred.
The City Charter requires that City Employees, with the exception of "first responders", must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from their date of employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire. As defined by Tennessee Senate Bill No. 29, "first responder" means paid, full-time law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel.
