TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Primarily desk work. Requires ability to operate general office equipment such as a computer and basic office equipment. Requires the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with the general public, agencies, management, and staff. Must be able to speak and conduct presentations in public to large audiences.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Majority of work is performed in an office environment. Work involves contact with staff and the public.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field and three (3) years' contract negotiation, monitoring, and/or compliance experience; or any combination of experience and training which enables one to perform the essential job functions.
The City Charter requires that City Employees, with the exception of "first responders", must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from their date of employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire. As defined by Tennessee Senate Bill No. 29, "first responder" means paid, full-time law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel.
