TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Requires the ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 20 pounds. Requires the ability to stoop, bend, stretch, and push for extended periods of time. Must be able to operate general office equipment such as a personal computer, telephone, or fax machine. |
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Works in temperature controlled public building. May be required to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and on-call. Occasional travel may be required within Shelby County and throughout the United States. |
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration; and eight (8) years of related professional experience with two (2) of the eight (8) years in a management or supervisory capacity; or any combination of experience and training which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Master's degree is preferred. |
The City Charter requires that City Employees, with the exception of "first responders", must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from their date of employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire. As defined by Tennessee Senate Bill No. 29, "first responder" means paid, full-time law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel.
