Construction Inspection Manager
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in an office-like environment. Travels by automobile to job sites at various shifts due to unexpected conditions and be exposed to hot and cold temperatures.
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Technology, a related field of Engineering, or related field and seven (7) years of experience planning, managing, and/or inspecting construction projects including overseeing the work of contractors with at least five (5) of the seven (7) years in a supervisory or lead capacity. Four (4) additional years of experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license as a condition of continued employment.
The City Charter requires that City Employees, with the exception of "first responders", must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from their date of employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire. As defined by Tennessee Senate Bill No. 29, "first responder" means paid, full-time law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel.
