ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  Works under the general direction of the assigned Director to manage fundraising and revenue generation opportunities to underwrite new and existing programs and services that strengthen Memphis’ creative economy. Collaborates with Director of the Office of Creative & Culture Economy (DOCCE) and partners to manage and prepare grant proposals and reports for funding partners. Manages the proposal submission process to ensure timely submission of all required materials. Works closely with staff members to synthesize program activities, data, and financials for proposals and reports. Cultivates relational connections and outcome-driven strategic partnerships with private/public/third sector entities. Manages revenue generating initiatives in collaboration with for-profit and nonprofit enterprises. Provides guidance and assistance to staff including planning assignments, monitoring progress, and reviewing work of assigned staff. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop market stimulation and amplification for the creative economy in support of OCCE’s mission, vision, and objectives. Partners with the Communications department to develop annual development strategy and communications plan. Develops and maintains fundraising strategies to meet organizational objectives Work with DOCCE to manage and execute projects in collaboration with multiple stakeholders. Maintains and updates grants calendar and other reporting tools as needed.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

1.     Performs additional functions (essential or otherwise) which may be assigned.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Requires ability to operate general office equipment such as a computer and a telephone. Requires the ability to operator an automobile vehicle to attend meeting and programs.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:  Work is performed in an office environment which involves contact with the staff and management. Work schedule may include weekends. Requires frequent travel to various sites for meeting and programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or related field with eight (8) years’ experience in project management, nonprofit administration, or grant writing/management with six (6) of the eight (8) in a supervisory capacity. Working experience in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license as a condition of continued employment.

The City Charter requires that City Employees must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from date of Employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire. The City Charter requires that City Employees, with the EXECEPTION of “first responders”, must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from their date of Employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire. As defined by Tennessee House Bill 105, "first responder means paid, full-time law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel and dispatchers of law enforcement, fire and emergency medical service departments."
