Fire Marshal
MINIMUM QUALIFACTIONS: Bachelor's degree in Fire Prevention or related field and ten (10) years of fire code and/or fire investigation experience with five (5) of the ten (10) years as a supervisor/manager in fire investigations or inspections; or fourteen (14) years of increasingly responsible experience in fire code and/or fire investigation with five (5) of the fourteen (14) years as a supervisor/manager.
Must be available to be on-call twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week. Must have a valid Tennessee driver's license, Class "D" with "F" Endorsement. Must be certified by the State of Tennessee as a Fire Inspector. Qualified by the Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission (P.O.S.T) as a law enforcement officer preferred.
The City Charter requires that City Employees must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from date of Employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire.
