Golf Course Maintenance Foreman

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to communicate, both verbally and in writing with staff,
management, vendors, and external contractors. Must be able to operate
equipment used in maintaining a golf course such as mowers, irrigating systems,
tractor with attachments, etc. Requires occasionally lifting (approx. 50 lbs.),
reaching, climbing ladders, stooping, kneeling, bending, and crouching for
extended periods of time. Requires the ability to traverse uneven ground to
visually inspect property.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Majority of work is performed in an outdoor environment and often
exposed to various weather conditions, dust, fumes, and chemicals. Some weekend
work may be required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma/equivalent and six (6) years’ experience in grounds
maintenance, to include three (3) years in golf course maintenance, with one
(1) of the six (6) years in a lead capacity; or any combination of training and
experience which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Must
possess and maintain a valid driver’s license as a condition of continued
employment. Must comply with Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) Alcohol
and Drug testing rules as a condition of continued employment.
The City Charter requires that City Employees
must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from date
of Employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire.
