MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma/equivalent and five (5) years’ experience in grounds maintenance, including specific experience operating a bobcat, tractor, chainsaw, and riding mower with one (1) of the five (5) years in a lead capacity; or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Must have a valid Class “B” Commercial driver’s license as a condition of continued employment. Must comply with Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) Alcohol and Drug testing rules as a condition of continued employment. Must successfully complete job-related skills testing as designated by Human Resources to evaluate competencies in operating heavy equipment, such as a front-end loader, back-hoe loader, track-hoe, excavator, motor grader skid steer (bob cat), crane, and bulldozer (crawler tractor).

The City Charter requires that City Employees must establish residence within Shelby County withing six (6) months from the date of employment.  Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire.
