GS Support Services Project Manager
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Requires the ability to operate general office equipment such as a telephone or computer. Requires the ability to operate an automobile.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Majority of work is performed in an office environment. Some travel to inspect project sites is necessary to monitor project progress and monitor adherence to contract requirements. Possible exposure to dust, fumes, odors, noise, heat, and various weather conditions while conducting site visits to project sites.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related field and five (5) years professional experience in project management with at least three (3) of the five (5) years in a responsible administrative/managerial capacity; or any combination of experience and training which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Requires Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Must have a valid driver’s license as a condition of continued employment.
The City Charter requires that City Employees, with the exception of "first responders", must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from their date of employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire. As defined by Tennessee Senate Bill No. 29, "first responder" means paid, full-time law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel.
