MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent. Seven (7) years experience in heavy construction including infrastructure construction and maintenance if assigned to Park Operation or  Drain Maintenance or (7) years in the area of transfer station operation and mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic operations if assigned to Solid Waste Disposal with three (3) to five (5) years in a supervisory or lead capacity; or any combination of training and experience which enables one to perform the essential job functions.  Must possess and maintain a valid Class "B" Tennessee (or equivalent out-of-state) Commercial Driver's License or possess and maintain a valid Class "A" Tennessee (or equivalent out-of-state) Commercial Driver's License if assigned to Solid Waste Disposal.   Must comply with Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) Alcohol and Drug testing rules as a condition of continued employment.  Working experience in the application and operation of heavy equipment related experience is preferred.

The City Charter requires that City Employees must establish residence within Shelby County withing six (6) months from the date of employment.  Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire.
