Internal Communications & Engagement Supervisor
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in an office. May require working extended hours. May travel to various work sites to attend various events or meeting to capture collateral for social media postings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Print Journalism or Communications and seven (7) years professional experience with five (5) years in a supervisory role. Working experience in creating content for newsletters, manuals, publications and online media. Working experience with business writing, internal communications concepts and strategic communications preferred. Working experience using software programs to include but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, GovDelivery, MailChimp, Constant Contact, Google Docs.
The City Charter requires that City Employees, with the exception of "first responders", must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from their date of employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire. As defined by Tennessee Senate Bill No. 29, "first responder" means paid, full-time law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel.
