Inventory Control Clerk - Environmental Maintenance
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Majority of work is performed in a storeroom environment with some outdoor work required to deliver and pick-up materials. Frequently exposed to dust and may be exposed to solvents, oils, fuels, pesticides, etc. when stocked in storeroom.
High School graduation and one (1) year of inventory experience working in a warehouse or parts distribution system; or equivalent combination of education and experience which enables one to perform the essential job functions. If assigned to the General Services Fleet Management Department, the required one (1) year of experience must be in an automotive parts distribution system. If assigned to the Memphis Police Department, must successfully complete firearms maintenance training during initial probationary period as a condition of continued employment. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license as condition of continued employment. May be required to learn data entry to maintain automated inventory system.
The City Charter requires that City Employees must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from date of Employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire.
