Jr. Printer
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Works under the general supervision of an assigned supervisor. Assists the senior printer(s) in the daily operation of the print shop. Operates folding machine, cutter, drill, and copier machines. Binds and reproduces forms, booklets, brochures, and documents for use by various city divisions. Delivers and picks up interoffice mail throughout the city. Drives to various locations to inspect equipment and worksites.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
1. Performs additional functions (essential or otherwise) which may be assigned.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires the ability to use folding machine, cutter drill, numbering machine, and stuffing machine. Requires extended periods of standing and bending, lifting to 75 lbs. Requires the ability to operate an automobile.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is normally performed in a printing environment and involves contact with staff and other city personnel. Frequently travels to deliver or pick up supplies throughout the city.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma and two (2) years of working experience or any combination of education and experience which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license as a condition of continued employment. Must pass skills testing designated by Human Resources to demonstrate ability to operate various equipment to perform the job duties.
The City Charter requires that City Employees, with the exception of "first responders", must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from their date of employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire. As defined by Tennessee Senate Bill No. 29, "first responder" means paid, full-time law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel.
