TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Requires the ability to operate general office equipment such as telephone, copier, and computer. Requires the ability to carry up to 50lbs. Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, working in small spaces, and drive to various work sites.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Involves contact with division management, City staff, end users, technical support and executive management. Involves contact with various consulting firms, outside vendors and solutions providers. May work twenty-four (24) hour shifts and be on call for emergencies. Requires independent travel to offices throughout the City.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma with extensive experience in Computer Science, Information Technology and seven 7 years of professional experience in IT infrastructure, network design and implementation, or computer system administrator; or any combination of experience and training which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Must possess and maintain a valid driver license as a condition of continued employment.

The City Charter requires that City Employees must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from date of Employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire.
