ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Works under the direction of the assigned Youth Services Program Supervisor to cultivate new and existing corporate, and community partnerships to mentor youth. Coordinates and implements strategies for volunteer and youth recruitment to achieve monthly targets in collaboration with the Memphis Office of Youth Services (MOYS). Designs, implements, and evaluates outreach programs to address the social, emotional, and educational needs of youth. Coordinates with local schools, community organizations, and stakeholders to expand access to youth services. Serves as a liaison between the organization and the community, fostering partnerships to enhance resources for youth. Builds relationships with community leaders, educators, and families to promote youth participation in programs. Coordinates and oversees a variety of activities designed to support education and development. Assists in facilitating communication between a non-profit, medical, mental health, and academic organization that aids the larger community. Conducts youth-focused research projects, including surveys, petitions, and focus groups, to gather insights into the concerns, interests, and needs of young people. Collaborates with local organizations to deliver youth-focused outreach services and programs tailored to meet the needs of young people in the community. Oversees schedules, assignments, and program delivery to ensure seamless and effective operations by coordinating staff and volunteer activities, managing timelines, and allocating resources efficiently. Attends meetings at various locations around the city by driving to different neighborhood associations, schools, seminars, conferences, etc. Maintains accurate records of program participation, outcomes, and impact. Prepares regular reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL CONDITIONS: Must be able to communicate both clearly verbally and in writing. Requires the ability to operate general office equipment such as a computer, telephone, and fax machine. Requires the ability to operate an automobile.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in an office environment Requires some travel to various sites throughout the city. May be required to work evenings and weekends to attend conferences, youth forums, school events, and trainings. Requires travel to various locations and events across the city.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Social Work, Youth Development, Education, or a related field and five (5) years of professional experience in youth services, program coordination, or community outreach; or any combination of experience and training which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license as a condition of continued employment. Master’s degree strongly preferred.

As defined by Tennessee House Bill 105, "first responder means paid, full-time law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel and dispatchers of law enforcement, fire and emergency medical service departments."
