Maintenance Plumber
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires the use of equipment such as shovels, hand tools, drills, etc. Requires the ability to perform manual work which will involve bending, kneeling, and reaching for extended periods of time. Requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs of various plumbing equipment. Drives vehicle to and from various work sites throughout city.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed inside buildings exposed to dust and outside exposed to changing weather conditions and temperatures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Journeyman Plumber's License and three (3) years plumbing experience or any combination of experience or training which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Must have a valid Class "B" Tennessee Commercial Driver's License or obtain within six (6) months of employment as a condition of continued employment. Must comply with Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) Alcohol and Drug testing rules. Class "A" Gas Installers License and Testing of Backflow Prevention Devices Certificate preferred.
The City Charter requires that City Employees must establish residence within Shelby County withing six (6) months from the date of employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire.
