TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with other employees and the general public.  Must be able to operate a computer and various office equipment.  Requires the ability to inspect work area, which may involve climbing, stooping etc. Assists with manual labor which includes lifting and bending to pick up heavy debris and ability to use equipment such as a small sweeper, sprayer, power washer, scrubber, packer, blower, debris vacuum, and bob truck.  Must be able to operate an automobile to drive to various locations throughout the City for inspections and meetings.
 
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in both office environment and outdoors at various job work sites. May be exposed to all weather conditions, including exposure to fumes, odors, dust, and noise. Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required to respond to emergencies.
 
High school graduate or equivalent and six (6) years' experience in right-of-ways or ground maintenance such as grass weed cutting or related experience with two (2) years in a supervisory capacity; or any combination  of training and experience which enables one to perform essential job functions.  Must possess and maintain a valid driver license as a condition of continued employment. 

The City Charter requires that City Employees must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from date of Employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire.
