School Crossing Guard (Part-time)
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time, give hand signals, blow through a whistle, and the ability to raise hand over head if necessary. Requires normal visual and audible acuity to detect the presence of vehicular traffic or children/pedestrians.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed outdoors, including exposure to changing weather conditions, such as wind, rain, ice, and extreme temperatures. Work schedule is two (2) hours per day when school is in session to include one (1) hour in the early morning and one (1) hour in the mid-afternoon.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent. Requires the ability to understand written and verbal directives. Must be able to effectively communicate instructions to the general public, including all ages. Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age at the time of application.
The City Charter requires that City
Employees must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months
from date of Employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of
hire.
