TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires ability to operate assigned equipment.


TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Majority of work is performed outdoors exposed to bitumen, dust, changing weather conditions, and hot and cold temperatures. Exposed to noise and traffic.

Ability to read and write and understand verbal instructions; must have a valid Class "B"Commercial Drivers License and must comply with Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) Alcohol and Drug testing rules; and have experience in operating trucks used in street repair such as Asphalt Distribution Truck and Street Flusher or any combination of experience and training which enables one to perform the essential job functions. May be required to complete a battery of tests as deemed appropriate by Human Resources to evaluate competencies in operating heavy equipment

 

The City Charter requires that City Employees must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from date of Employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire.
