ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Works under the direction of assigned manager to support and maintain the City of Memphis ITD Server environment including hardware, software, and operating systems. Handles daily technical support activities on data network, and server management. Assists with company infrastructure planning, implementation, and improvements.Performsregular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures for the City of Memphis. Monitors progress of service requests and updates ticketing systems. Performs enterprise patch management program to ensure all systems are up to date. Provides technical support for escalated issues and works with vendors to resolve more complex issues.Works with assigned manager and other support staff to ensure requests are routed to the proper resources to be resolved quickly and efficiently. Leads and facilitates special projects related to job function for the division. Documents internal processesand procedures related to duties and responsibilities. Follows up with clients to ensure their systems are functional. Provides documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.

The City Charter requires that City Employees, with the exception of "first responders", must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from their date of employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire. As defined by Tennessee Senate Bill No. 29, "first responder" means paid, full-time law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel.
