MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil, or a closely related engineering degree and nine (9) years’ experience in wastewater treatment processes with seven (7) of the nine (9) in a supervisory capacity; or any combination of experience and training which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Engineer-In- Training (EIT) certificate or equivalent engineering experience (1 year) required. License (PE) to practice engineering in the State of Tennessee preferred. Individual must possess a State of Tennessee Class IV Waste Water Treatment license or before the end of 24 months of employment must obtain and maintain license as a condition of continued employment. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license as a condition of continued employment.

The City Charter requires that City Employees must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from date of Employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire.

The City Charter requires that City Employees, with the exception of "first responders", must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from their date of employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire. As defined by Tennessee Senate Bill No. 29, "first responder" means paid, full-time law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel.
