Wellness Specialist (Part-Time)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in any health fitness, physical education, or health-related field and two (2) years experience in fitness training to include experience leading exercise classes, such as kickboxing, Pilates, and step aerobics, and utilizing intermediate knowledge of fitness/exercise technique, health and wellness; or any combination of experience and training which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Must possess or obtain CPR and First Aid certifications within initial six (6) months of employment and must maintain certifications as a condition of continued employment. Must be available to work extended hours early in the mornings and/or late in the afternoons as needed. Education and experience in the field of nutrition is preferred.
The City Charter requires that City Employees, with the exception of "first responders", must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from their date of employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire. As defined by Tennessee Senate Bill No. 29, "first responder" means paid, full-time law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel.
