WTP Maintenance Electrician
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires the use of equipment such as hand tools, drills, hydraulic bender, etc. Requires ability to lift 50 lbs. Requires ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, light poles, aerial equipment and bucket trucks in the performance of some job duties. Requires the ability to operate City vehicle to drive on plant site and to various work locations throughout city.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed inside and outside plant facility exposed to odors, dust, fumes, changing weather conditions and temperatures.
Valid Journeyman Electrician License and four (4 ) years of industrial electrical experience, including experience with high voltage and heavy industrial machinery; or any combination of experience or training which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Must possess and maintain a valid driver license as a condition of continued employment.
The City Charter requires that City Employees, with the exception of "first responders", must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from their date of employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire. As defined by Tennessee Senate Bill No. 29, "first responder" means paid, full-time law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel.
