Environmental Inspection Supervisor
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
1. Performs additional functions (essential or otherwise) which may be assigned.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing with all levels of management, staff, city officials, agencies, and the public. Requires the ability to use a computer, telephone, and other City issued equipment. Must be able to operate an automobile to drive to related inquiries regarding illegally disposed material and inspections.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Majority of the work is performed in an office environment with some field work required. Requires frequent travel to various sites for inspection and investigation. May require working extended hours, including some evenings and weekends, including working outdoors in various weather conditions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field and five (5) years’ experience working with environmental code enforcement or inspection; or the equivalent combination of education and experience which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Must successfully complete Annual In-Service Training, including passing evaluations for all In-Service testing requirements as a condition of continued employment. Must possess Tennessee P.O.S.T. certification or equivalent state certification. Must successfully pass selection board evaluations, including but not limited to written tests, oral interviews, and performance evaluations. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license as a condition of continued employment.
