MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Forensic Science, Statistics, or a related field and a minimum of six (6) years of proven experience in homicide analysis, crime analysis, or a related field. Familiarity with forensic techniques, crime scene investigation procedures, and legal principles. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical analysis software and data visualization tools (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R, Python, Tableau). Working experience in computer data systems, statistical analysis such as SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences), and mapping software programs such as ArcGIS (Geographic Information Systems). Must be able to obtain a Tennessee Information Enforcement (TIES) certification within twelve (12) months of hire and maintain it as a condition of continued employment. May be required to complete a battery of tests as deemed appropriate by Human Resources to evaluate competencies in performing job duties. All candidates must successfully pass a criminal justice employment background check to work within the Police Services Division. Master’s degree preferred.

Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire. As defined by Tennessee House Bill 105, "first responder means paid, full-time law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel and dispatchers of law enforcement, fire and emergency medical service departments."
