Maintenance Electrician
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Requires the use of equipment such as hand tools, drills, hydraulic bender, etc. Requires the ability to operate an automobile. Requires ability to lift 50 lbs. Requires ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, light towers, aerial equipment and bucket trucks in the performance of some job duties. Drives vehicle to and from various work sites throughout city.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed inside buildings exposed to dust and outside exposed to changing weather conditions and temperatures.
Valid Journeyman Electrician License and four (4) years of electrical maintenance experience, or any combination of experience or training which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license as a condition of continued employment.
The City Charter requires that City Employees, with the exception of "first responders", must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from their date of employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire. As defined by Tennessee Senate Bill No. 29, "first responder" means paid, full-time law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel.
