MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field and seven (7) years professional work experience in benefits, retirement, or pension program development, design and/or administration, specifically in Total Rewards programs areas; or any combination of experience or training which enables one to perform the essential job functions.  Must possess and maintain valid driver’s license as a condition of continued employment.  Professional Human Resources certification preferred. 

 The City Charter requires that City Employees must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from date of Employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire. The City Charter requires that City Employees, with the EXECEPTION of “first responders”, must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from their date of Employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire. As defined by Tennessee House Bill 105, "first responder means paid, full-time law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel and dispatchers of law enforcement, fire and emergency medical service departments."

HIPAA REQUIREMENT: All employees who have access to health information which requires confidentiality procreated by the HIPAA Privacy Rule are required by the Rule to receive training so that they have an understanding and knowledge of both the Privacy Rule that corresponds to their job responsibilities and of the health plan's policies and procedures that impact on their job duties.  Training on the requirements of the HIPAA Privacy Rule and the plan's health information policies and procedures under the direction of the plan Privacy Officer must be completed within the initial six (6) months as a condition of continued employment.  Employees who violate the requirements of the HIPAA Privacy Rule will be subject to disciplining action up to and including termination.
