MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1.Environmental Eng Designer A – Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.   Must possess a certification as an Engineer-In-Training (EIT).  Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license as a condition of continued employment. 
  
2.Environmental Eng Designer Aa – Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and two (2) years' professional civil engineering experience.  Must possess a certification as an Engineer-In-Training (EIT).  Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license as a condition of continued employment
  
3.Environmental Engineer – Bachelors' degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering degree and four (4) years' experience in civil or environmental engineering and at least two (2) of the four (4) years in a supervisory/lead capacity; or any combination of experience and training which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Must possess and maintain a Professional Engineer (PE) license to practice in the state of Tennessee or a state that has reciprocity with Tennessee as a condition of continued employment.  Must obtain a State of Tennessee Class II Wastewater Collection license within 24 months of employment in this position and maintain license as a condition of continued employment if assigned to Environmental Maintenance (CMOM program). Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license as a condition of continued employment. 

The City Charter requires that City Employees must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from date of Employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire. The City Charter requires that City Employees, with the EXECEPTION of “first responders”, must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from their date of Employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire. As defined by Tennessee House Bill 105, "first responder means paid, full-time law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel and dispatchers of law enforcement, fire and emergency medical service departments."
